One of my favorite takes on a 7-day sequence is the Webinar By Email.

This is a great strategy to capture those that won’t attend your webinar presentation. The value is high here because it can almost feel like a mini-course by email.

The nice thing about this sequence is that all you need to do is repurpose the content that you already created for your webinar and slice it up into bite-size chunks.

In the subject, you’ll want to indicate that all the emails are part of a sequence (see examples).

3 Secrets Webinar by Email:

  • Day 1: Set the Stage/Introduction

  • Day 2: The Pre-Discovery

  • Day 3: Secret #1

  • Day 4: Secret #2

  • Day 5: Secret #3

  • Day 6: Recap + Offer Stack

  • Day 7: Testimonials + Re-Offer

Day 1: Set the Stage/Introduction

In day one’s email, you will set the stage of what your webinar is about and introduce yourself and what gives you credibility to share your wisdom on the topic of the webinar.

This is a good time to handle housekeeping from an email perspective too, give the agenda of what you will be sharing each day and why they would want to “attend” in this case read the email.

Example Email:

SUBJECT: [1 of 7] The biggest business bet of their lives…

Hey ~FIRST_NAME~

Imagine for a moment…

2 brothers…

Who decided to start a business together…

Until they come to a crossroads…

One wants to build a website…

The other lead magnets and funnels…

They can’t agree…

So they make a bet…

Whoever’s strategy works gets to be the CEO of the company…

(and boss the other one around)

One of them will lose everything…

The rules…

They each have 12 months to figure out which way will be more successful…

They can pick whatever platforms they want but they can’t go “in the red”…

One brother discovered the HARD way…

One brother discovered the EASY way…

Can you guess who won the bet?

Every time the brother with the lead magnet and funnels won…

In getting leads…

In getting sales…

In building a team…

Needless to say, he won the bet and became CEO of the company…

If you’ve been struggling, this is probably why…

You’ve been playing the funnel game to NOT lose…

Day 2: The Pre-Discovery

You’ll prime day two with what aha you had that led you to discover the 3 secrets. This can be the backstory, the desire, and the conflict. To go deeper into the storytelling framework you can read the article here.)

This email will cover all the content up to Secret #1. A great way to get them to open the next email is to leave them on a cliffhanger about Secret #1.

Example Email:

SUBJECT: [2 of 7] This changed my life forever…

Hey ~FIRST_NAME~

“I’m going to travel the world, you can come with me or stay here.”

My wife looked at me like I had 2 heads.

“Just make sure we have a place to stay every night.” she said to me.

While we didn’t “travel the world” we did visit 23 different destinations around the United States and Canada.

On that trip I discovered the 4 temperatures of traffic…and that we were going to have a baby.

Both changed my life forever.

First I figured out that there are 4 not 3 temperatures of traffic:

- Cold

- Warm

- Hot

- Raving

And there were 4 different types of traffic:

- Online & Paid

- Offline & Paid

- Online & Free

- Offline & Free

And that when you combine the 2 you have a total of 16 traffic sources…

We got home from our trip and moved to our new house and welcomed our daughter on April 27th…

Only to go back to the hospital on May 3rd…

You see my wife had complications with her pregnancy which resulted in a life-threatening condition…

And I was able to stay by my wife’s side and look after my newborn daughter…

Never worrying about…

“How would we pay our bills?”

“How can I support my team when I’m worried about my wife?”

“Am I going to drop the ball on all the potential business we have?”

My wife recovered and we were able to take some much-needed downtime…

In fact, we could take an unlimited amount of leave…

Because we had created a Lead Flow Engine…

Day 3: Secret #1

On day three you’ll teach Secret #1. Use everything from your presentation from the concepts required to understand Secret #1 to the Case Studies and testimonials that prove the model of Secret #1. You’ll end the email by teasing the content of Secret #2.

Example Email:

SUBJECT: [3 of 7] The most delicious way to build a lead magnet…

Hey ~FIRST_NAME~

It used to be that building a lead magnet felt like eating an elephant.

And would take about as long too.

I remember spending 2 years building my first lead magnet.

And I didn’t get any leads…

After creating a winning lead magnet (Funnel Magazine)…

And interviewing the top marketing experts in the industry…

They all pointed to the same thing when it came to lead magnets…

MAKE IT EASY TO CONSUME.

Now that we had the framework for creating high converting and CONSUMED lead magnets (they are delicious) we needed a way to follow up with those leads…

Day 4: Secret #2

Since this webinar is being delivered by email, go ahead and recap all the emails up to this point and urge readers that haven’t read the first 3 to go back and read them. This will help create context and can get you more open rates and engagement from your email list.

Share where you left off on Secret #1 and teach them Secret #2. Finish off Secret #2 with a compelling segway to Secret #3.

Example Email:

Hey ~FIRST_NAME~

My friend Bryan Dulaney was dancing around in a Wonka suit…

And I was making money…

Day 5: Secret #3

For Secret #3 you’ll wash, rinse and repeat the strategy for Secret #1. Remember to create the context for the last email and remind readers to go back if they haven’t read the prior emails in the sequence.

SUBJECT: [5 of 7] I hate leads…said no one…ever…

Hey ~FIRST_NAME~

Day 6: Recap + Offer Stack

On day six it’s time to recap the last 5 days of your presentation and introduce your offer stack. An easy way to do this is to include the offer stack slide directly from your presentation.

Hey ~FIRST_NAME~

Our client had a retreat center but hadn’t used funnels before.

Day 7: Testimonials + Re-Offer

The more touchpoints you can have with your audience the better, if you can email your audience every day it’s ideal because it helps you stay top of mind. But maybe you only want to email 5 or 6 days a week.

Hey ~FIRST_NAME~

Initially the average booked call for our client took $1,200 in ad spend
